Gnosis Gauge: Similar to the HEAT system employed in Drink and Coin, all characters will start with a Gnosis Gauge, buildable up to a maximum of 5. The following actions increase Gnosis Gauge: - Attacking or using a Combat Art: +1 - Attacking with an element that matches your Gnosis (i.e. a Fulmen Gnosis wielder using Thunder magic) or being attacked by the same: +2* * Ferrum Gnosis wielders gain energy from Earth Magic, and Glacies Gnosis wielders gain energy from Water Magic. - Healing, performing or buffing allies: +1 to all characters involved - Using a Gnosis Art: +2 - Activating Gnosis Burst: +1 to all allies with matching Gnosis elements within 2 spaces Certain enemy Combat Arts and abilities can drain Gnosis Gauge, while certain items can make it easier to gain Gnosis Gauge. Gnosis Art: A special Combat Art exclusive only to a specific Gnosis wielder, this Gnosis Art grants additional Gnosis energy to the gauge when used. Gnosis Arts are listed with the rest of your Combat Arts. Unlike normal Combat Arts, Gnosis Arts can double and do not drain more QL than normal. Gnosis Arts cannot also be used on consecutive turns; if they remain active over mutliple turns, at least one turn must pass before they recast. Example Gnosis Arts: Tokiwa Secret Art [Descending Fist]: The user enshrouds his fist with ice. For the next combat, the user's attacks qualify as Wind for WTA and target the lower of RES or DEF. Mizuno Medicinal Art [Water Talisman]: The user manifests a watery talisman around an ally, allowing that unit to deal 5 extra damage per attack and healing that unit for MAG/2 HP every turn for three turns or until that ally is downed. Amatsu Spearmanship [Boar's Charge]: The user charges forward into an enemy within two spaces, moving to any space within two spaces adjacent to the target, and their next combat gains +10 Critical and +3 DMG. Gnosis Burst: A very powerful skill specific to a Gnosis wielder, these can only be cast when the user has a Gnosis Gauge of 5 and costs the entire gauge to cast. After use, the Gnosis wielder is unable to build Gnosis for 1 turn. A persistent Gnosis Burst cannot be recast as long as the original Gnosis Burst is still present on the field and for one turn after the Burst wears off. Example Gnosis Bursts: Thaumaturgical Art [Spirit Blade]: The user causes an large sword to descend into the ground within two spaces. While fighting within two spaces of the Blade, all allies gain 5 DR and all enemies take 5 extra damage. The Spirit Blade lasts for 3 turns or until the user is downed. Blessing of the Ascended Maiden [Ocean Marker]: The user summons multiple watery talismans to tag all enemies within two spaces. All enemies tagged by Rin gain the Marked status, which is consumed by the first ally to enter combat against them; that ally gains +10 Critical during that combat and heals for half the damage they deal. Todoroki Perfected Art [Steam Burst]: The user smashes his sword into the ground, causing it to erupt with blasts of superheated steam. All enemies within a straight line extending four spaces in a direction the user chooses take twice the user's AT as damage to the lower of RES or DEF. Gnosis Boost: Alternatively, one may use Gnosis Gauge to boost a Gnosis Art in lieu of using a Gnosis Burst. Gnosis Boosts grant +1 point of extra damage, healing or DR, or +5 points of buffs, for every 1 point used, up to a maximum of 3 points of Gauge.
